This 900mhz video baby monitor works very well, with good reception.
I previously owned the Sassy Web Watch IC Baby Video Monitor which also works interchangeably with this one in the 900 Mhz band. It looks like the same OEM design as this one, except that one came with a USB adapter which allows you to monitor your baby remotely (It also cost more than 2x what this one cost at a popular baby store). My wife dropped the video monitor of the Sassy Baby Monitor one night, so the lcd screen cracked and broke, so we were looking for a replacement.
At first we tried to order the Q-See Digital 2.4Ghz monitor that they sell at Amazon as well since it looked very similar to the Sassy monitor we had been using for over a year. It was completely useless since it would lose the connection whenever you moved more than 5 feet away from the camera. I returned that one, and got this one instead since I looked at the specs and it was in the same 900Mhz frequency that the Sassy Web Watch IC monitor was.
It was a pleasant surprise that this monitor works with the existing Sassy camera and Sassy Web Watch USB receiver we already owned, so now we can use the two cameras (one on channel 1 and the other on channel 2) and have one Video Monitor unit for both. I can still continue to use the Web Watch USB receiver to watch the baby on my big TV it's hooked up to and Windows Media Encoder to stream over the internet.
The reception on this unit is actually a lot better than the previous Sassy web Watch baby monitor, probably due to the antenna being longer than before. We no longer get any static when we monitor the baby sleeping in the nursery upstairs from the living room downstairs. This product is highly recommended by me, stay away from the similar looking Q-See 2.4 Ghz unit they also sell here. |
Awful -- and short return window, so we're stuck with this non-working monitor.

I'm really disappointed with this monitor. It stopped working after only several days of use. The screen would either blank out, get white lines, or not go on at all. I couldn't trust that it would stay on - even while plugged in. I replaced the batteries, but it wouldn't help for more than a few minutes if at all. And, like someone else said in their review, when it did work, it was difficult to position to get the baby in view.
Now, we're stuck with the monitor -- and it's not a bargain to begin with! As with many baby gifts, we didn't open and use this one right away. We found out how crappy it was later. And then, because this has such a short return window (45 days?!??!?!), it couldn't be returned. Too short a return period for a baby product, especially an electronic one!!!!! Buy from a company where you can return in-store and with more reviews from the public. |
How did I ever get along without it?!

We have a 15 month old and another baby on the way. Our 15 month old started doing stunts in his crib where he would end up with his legs stuck between the crib bars. I would hear him crying in the middle of his nap, but not know that he was stuck, so I would try and let him cry himself back to sleep. Only he wouldn't stop crying. When I went in to check him after he wouldn't stop crying, I would find him stuck in the bars. Silly kid! I felt so bad, though, that he was crying and I didn't know he was stuck. If I knew he was stuck I would have gone in right away, otherwise, he usually would cry himself back to sleep and finish his nap.
After a while of finding him stuck, I decided I needed to get a video monitor. The first time I saw him stuck in the crib on the monitor, I went in right away and it made the money all worth it. I don't know how I've made it 15 months without it!! I think it's GREAT!
It's also great in the night. It has excellent night vision, crystal clear! Of course the night vision has a black and white sense to it, but hey, it's night vision!
Batteries for me lasted two days for his daytime naps. Not great, but considering that I'm powering a little TV instead of just sound, I thought it was pretty good.
I love it. I bought a second camera for a little one on the way and we have tried out the two cameras together. The monitor will alternate between the two channels every 3 seconds if you want it to, or you can just watch or listen to one channel at a time. I thought it was GREAT!
I highly recommend this product! |

| We've tried a couple of other monitors that said they had automatic night vision, this is the only one that worked. You can see clearly in a pitch black room it's great. The camera is great because it allows you (by hand) to adjust it up,down, side to side, even at an angle it is wonderful. I will say I've never put batteries in it I just plug it into a wall. You can even attach it to your TV it is great. I love it. The best for the price trust me!!!! |
Great Product, Amazing Video Quality!

We purchased this item to add video coverage of our 1 month old's nursery. I have read many reviews of video monitors on various sites, and this was the only one which had acceptable marks.
The monitor was super easy to setup and "configure". I was initially concerned that without mounting it at an angle on a wall, I would not get full coverage of the crib. However, this monitor has an excellent wide angle of view, and the camera lens itself is adjustable to an extent. But what really floors me is the quality of the video! The picture is clear and crisp, and the night vision is stellar. We've experienced little, if any, interference (and we have multiple wireless devices functioning in our house - wifi, alarm system, etc) - occasionally, if we plug an additional electronic device into the same outlet, we'll get a small static wave. But, it's hardly noticeable and has not interfered with the picture.
My only complaint (and why this is 4-star, not 5) is the audio volume. It may be that we're coming from an audio-only monitor, but the highest volume setting is not nearly enough for my tastes. Sometimes I have to crouch right next to it to hear anything. If it wasn't for the high-quality video, I may have returned it for this reason.
Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. |
Batteries left in will explode and leak battery acid.

| There are warnings on the box about not plugging this unit in while batteries are inside but if you make a mistake and plug it in they will explode and leak battery acid. If you hang this above your baby's crib be certain you don't leave batteries in the unit. Seems like the kind of thing you shouldn't have to worry about given it's a product that is made for baby monitoring. Video quality is decent. Alarm feature is helpful. Audio seems low. |

| It was an OK product to begin with. Forget about using it with batteries - you will end up changing them almost every day. There was some interference from WiFi, so just have to find a good spot in the room. It is also very hard to point camera to look down into the crib, it can only be standing and the `eye' has very limited angle. So overall it was just something that we were stuck with. Then after couple of months of use the picture started to get grainy, at times so grainy that I could not figure out what am I looking at. Some times it would get stuck and show you a still image. I had to turn camera on and off couple of times to get rid of this image and show real time picture again. Well, it was getting worse, at times the camera would be stuck for hours, even days - you turn on the monitor and see the picture of your baby in the crib when the baby is not there! Now I have it for less then 6 months and it is just a piece of junk. Do not bother with this product... |

| I have to say this is better than my old one. I love the look of it and its easy to carry around. It takes 4-AA batteries and I would say it would last 2-days if you turn it on during naps and off when not in use. I still get static when I'm near a laptop. Don't get fooled by the color quality picture that you see on amazon. The actual color looks nothing like it. It looks more black and white than color. There is no zoom in/zoom out feature and our table is too far from the bed. So I tried to balance the monitor on the bed and its hard when the base of it is too narrow. |
Don't let the price fool you!

| This is a great product for a great price. I LOVE that it's simple and very easy to set up. There's no static whatsoever and it doesn't interfere with my wifi, cordless phones, or cell phones at all. The picture is clear and night vision is like watching it in the daytime. This is a deal I'm glad I didn't pass up! |
