I bought this camera in Sept. '09 and was very happy with everything about it. The picture quality is much better than the other top sellers which I've seen while visiting other friends' babies. Unfortunately, three months after I purchased it, I accidentally dropped the monitor on our wooden floor and it stopped working. I contacted the vendor in RI and after a month they returned my call. They agreed to look at the monitor and see if they could fix it, which they didn't have to do since I broke it. I sent it to them and a couple of weeks later I received the monitor back and it works! Long story short this is a great monitor with a good, clear picture and it comes from a seller who will work with you if you have any problems.
Very dissappointed

I was deciding between a number of color monitors and decided to go with this one based on some of the reviews. After having used the product I too wonder about some of these reviews. The clarity on this monitor was very poor, most times being unable to make out what I was looking at. It seemed the only time I received a decent picture was when there was a direct light being shined on the object, even then it wasn't as advertised. I would say the only positive thing about this unit was the quick setup, which really is pointless if it doesn't work well. We have a black and white monitor we purchased 3 years ago for our daughter that still works well during the day but poorly at night. So we figured on upgrading to a new color monitor, well the search continues.

Fantastic product!!!Arrived very quickly with easy to understand directions. High tech but still easy to understand even if you are not technically savy.
Made a great gift!

I bought this baby monitor about three months ago for my sister as a baby shower gift. She really wanted a digital monitor that would give her a clear picture. I have to admit I was a bit hesistant to buy online. The proof is in the pudding...she loves it! It's very clear and has no interference. Even the night vision is great. Since then, I know two other people who have bought one and had similar success. As a future mom myself, I have already put one down for my wish list!

I was very pleased with this video monitor - great color and sound clarity. Simple to set up and operate, and it doesn't require a second morgage to finance... but the truely great thing about this product is the customer service. The good folks at The Pegasis Shop are OUTSTANDING. If you call, it is a real person who answers the phone - and that same person who will probably address your consern - quickly, professionally, pleasantly. I was really impressed with these guys and I bet you will be too.
The best we've encountered

We had a Graco video monitor that was absolutely pathetic, and so we wanted to get a system that actually worked. When I saw the reviews of this monitor, as well as the excellent customer service of The Safe Baby Shop I thought I would give it a try. The monitor is the best monitor we've had--it's very clear, the battery for the hand held receiver lasts a really long time, and it's easy to use and to set up. The one draw back is that for some reason in the day the amount of light that comes into our baby's room makes the picture black out. I think that's because it's too much light to turn on the night vision, but not enough to make the monitor register color. This isn't really a defect in the monitor though. Even when we can't see, we can still hear what's going on.
I also have to comment on the customer service. The first monitor we received had a defect. (The first battery wasn't connecting to the charger correctly and it wouldn't hold a charge.) I called the customer service number and explained the problem. The worker was very nice and said to mail it back and I would receive a full refund. I asked if I could get a replacement and he said that they weren't receiving a shipment for a little while. He said I could hold onto the monitor I had in the mean time so we had something to use, which was very nice of him. We received the replacement monitor in just a few weeks. The only draw back I have to the customer service is that we had to pay the $10 shipping to send the defective monitor back. Other than that, I am very pleased with the product and the company! |
So-So Product - Reviews are Very Suspicious . . . read on!

Well I actually have this product and I suppose you would have to admit that it works. However, don't expect very much and certainly don't expect the overly glowing reviews that suddenly all showed up about a month ago at essentially the very same time as the posting from the President of the Company in a desperate attempt to defend his product! It very much appears to me (and to another poster as well) that suddenly the employees of this company (this site allows you to claim your from any city you like) all suddenly bought this at the same time and all found it near flawless. Look folks, it works but in a dark room it's essentially worthless unless you've got a fairly good night light in the same room. This is an alright daytime monitor and little else and that's truth. As far as the claim for no interference that doesn't even pass the laugh test since all FCC wireless devices of this certification are indeed subject to interference of all kinds . . . and you should expect some. This is at best a decent product worthy of 2 stars. I've since found much better products on the market and at not very much more in price. Do your homework and by all means be suspicious of the obvious shameful "puffing" of this product here on this site.

I was very leary about purchasing a video baby monitor on - line. However; to my pleasant surprise, I was VERY impressed with this monitor from the moment I took it out of the box!!! I like the hand held size and the crisp picture. Because I have a lot of neighbors with babies, I was worried about interference, rest assured there was none! I would have no hesitation to recommend this product to all of my friends who are just starting to have babies!
This is an excellent product

We bought a different video monitor when our baby was first born but ended up returning it due to the interference and static-y audio. Recently, we moved our 9-month old into her own room, and we wanted to get a video monitor to see what she was doing. So we took a look at what else was available in terms of video monitors, and stumbled on this product.
The Home Sentry is much better than any other video monitor we tried. The infrared camera does a great job, and the quality of the picture and length of the battery life is great. It is fun to watch her roll over in bed... and on the screen it looks like it's the middle of the day.
The only thing we wish is that there was a mode where the audio stayed on all the time... it turns on whenever there's any notable sound, but my wife likes to listen to our daughter breathe, so she uses this video monitor along with the always-on Safety First audio monitor as well.
Anyway, this is a great product. Don't hesitate to buy it. We love it. |
Fantastic monitor - clear picture, no interference, highly recommend!

We purchased this monitor when we moved our 6 month old to his own room. We couldn't be happier with the monitor. It has no audio interference. We can see our son clearly with the lights out thanks to the night vision. With the lights on the picture is crisp and clear. We have recommended it to all our friends with young children. I researched all the other digital monitors and we live in a neighborhood full of children and I didn't want my child on someone else's monitor or vice versa. This monitor has had none of those issues. I would absolutely buy this monitor again. Worth every penny of the cost.
